Complete IM Initial Set Up
Once CompleteIMSetup.exe has been installed, navigate to:
Start > Programs > Complete IM > Complete IM System Administrator
Default Log In Info:
Login Name: admin
Password: password
This will open up the System Administrator Utility:
Highlight 'System Administrator' as shown above. Right mouse click and select 'Edit':
The following screen will appear:
CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY TO INSURE ADMINISTRATOR CONTROL AND SECURITY.
Click 'OK'
Upon initially logging into the Administrator Utility you will have a blank database.
To manually add users to the Complete IM database, please continue to the next instruction. To integrate Complete IM with a Microsoft Active Directory Database
please skip to here.
Manual Database Entries
To manually enter Users and Groups to the blank Complete IM database select 'Users and Groups' from the left column:
Click on 'New CompleteIM User and the following window will appear:
Enter the User information and select the permissions they will have access to.
Note- In order to use the System Adminitrator Utility, the user must be logged in to the
computer where the server was installed AND have permission to log in to the System Administrator Utility.
Click 'OK' and your user is created.

Active Directory Integration
To integrate Complete IM with a Microsoft Active Directory Database select 'Active Directory' from the left column. Click on 'Add New Directory' as shown below:
Enter the Server and Administrator information for the Microsoft Active Directory Database on the next screen:
Once that step is complete and you choose a daily synchronization time, click 'OK'
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ACTIVE DIRECTORY INTEGRATION:
CompleteIM can not access your user's secure Active Directory passwords.
All users imported from active directory will use their pre-defined Active Directory Login Names, but all passwords will be set to "password":
example:
Active Directory User "jsmith"
CompleteIM login Login Name: jsmith
CompleteIM Password: password
It is recommended users be instructed to change their default password
upon initial login to maintain CompleteIM account security.
Once CompleteIM completes the initial syncronization, you must distribute the CompleteIM.exe client to all users that you wish to have access to the
CompleteIM network. Please see the distribution link for more information.
Windows NT Login Integration
CompleteIM can be integrated with Microsoft NT to eliminate having to manually log on to CompleteIM. Navigate to 'Server Settings' in the left column and select
the 'Integrated Login Tab on the right.
The following window will appear:
Click in the box labeled "Allow Microsoft Wondows integrated login"
Upon the next login following the change, users will be automatically logged onto CompleteIM when they initiate the program.
Hint: If a path to CompleteIM.exe is added to the Start> Programs> Startup directory, CompleteIM will automatically log users on when they log into Windows.
With the Auto Hide Feature activated on the client there is virtually no detection of CompleteIM besides the icon in the System Tray:
